Works under the direction of the leader of the Grants & Contracts Office, and works closely with key stakeholders of research administration, including the Associate Director of Office of Sponsored Programs, Sr. Financial Analyst, internal and external Grant Administrators, and Versiti Investigators and fellows. Coordinates and assists with the overall financial, administrative, and grant activities of the BRI. This position is expected to be primarily responsible for pre-award activities but will perform post-award activities as needed by the department. Pre-award activities include preparing grant applications, editing proposals, budget development, and managing external subaward communication for contracts.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigators (PIs) and CTRO Supervisor, is responsible for coordinating research trials from initiation to completion in compliance with regulations and requirements. Manages trial budgets and implements and oversees systems to manage the conduct of the clinical trials and the flow of information among stakeholders. May serve as a team lead or experienced coordinator mentor. May lead a disease function research area.

Performs component preparation as ordered by the provider to ensure the correct product is issued for transfusion. Provides the most appropriate blood in a timely and accurate manner and provides phone consultation to customers.

The Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is an academic center for innovative hematology research in WI. VBRI research spans the spectrum from basic, mechanistic inquiry to clinical- translational and population-based research and currently houses 26 faculty with five focus areas- Hematopoiesis, Glycobiology, Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Transfusion Medicine, and Immunology. To increase the critical mass of hematology investigators assembled under the same roof, VBRI will be adding 18 new PIs over a 7-year period.
