Position Summary

Reporting to the Director Total Rewards and People Operations, the Senior Compensation Analyst plays a key role in designing, implementing, and administering compensation programs that support business goals and talent strategies. This position is responsible for evaluating job architecture, conducting market analyses, managing salary structures, and supporting annual compensation cycles including merit, bonus, and incentive programs. The role partners closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and business leaders to ensure compensation decisions are equitable, market-aligned, and compliant with regulatory requirements. The Senior Compensation Analyst serves as the primary resource for compensation modeling, process improvement, policy development, and data reporting. This role provides subject matter expertise on compensation practices and contributes to cross-functional projects that enhance total rewards programs and employee experience. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and administers compensation programs that support the organization’s talent strategy and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Leads job evaluation processes, maintaining the job catalog and ensuring consistent job documentation and leveling.
  • Conducts market analysis and salary survey benchmarking to inform pay decisions and maintain external competitiveness.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on compensation practices, providing consultation and education to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and managers on job offers, promotions, reclassifications, and policy decisions.
  • Develops and maintains compensation structures and guidelines to support internal equity and transparency.
  • Manages annual merit and incentive planning processes, including system preparation, budget modeling, and analysis.
  • Supports the design and administration of variable pay programs such as incentive, commission, and recognition plans.
  • Partners with Finance on compensation budgeting, financial modeling, and forecasting activities.
  • Conducts audits of compensation records and practices to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in compensation surveys and monitors trends to maintain market-aligned practices.
  • Develops and maintains compensation documentation, policies, training materials, and communication resources.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including FLSA and pay transparency requirements.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to support compensation-related projects, system enhancements, and organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and shares expertise to build knowledge across the Total Rewards team.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business, or related field required

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive compensation experience, including plan administration, project oversight, job architecture, incentive modeling, and consulting with business leaders in a complex organizational environment required
  • Experience in a health care setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to synthesize complex data required
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated auditing and data integrity oversight required
  • Ability to design, implement, and improve compensation-related processes required
  • Effective project management and business acumen in a dynamic environment required
  • Proven discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information required
  • Adaptability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting required
  • Solid understanding of HR laws and practices impacting compensation required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex information confidently to various audiences required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred

Tools and Technology

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other data analysis functions required
  • Use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for reporting, documentation, and communication required
  • Regular use of HRIS platforms for compensation data extraction, analysis, and reporting required
  • Regular use of desktop, laptop, and tablet devices to perform analytical and communication tasks required
  • Working familiarity with systems such as Dayforce, Payfactors, and JDXpert preferred
