Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Service Line Marketing, the Sr. Marketing Manager - Clinical Trials and Advanced Therapies plans, implements and manages product marketing activities to grow revenue across Versiti Advanced Therapies and Clinical Trials. The primary objective of this role is to develop and implement strategies to build deeper connection with customers and deliver an outstanding experience. This position will develop and execute service-line specific strategies for increasing field sales, generating demand, creating differentiation, and driving perceived value. This position will also develop core positioning and messaging for the product or portfolio through online presence, product demos, events/conferences, media and other venues. The scope includes communicating our value proposition for a wide range of customers including hospitals, clinical trials, and laboratory partners. This role collaborates across Business Development, Portfolio Management, Growth Marketing, and other teams to develop and implement customer engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: * Manage marketing team across Advanced Therapies and Clinical Trials service lines * Set annual marketing goals and objectives for the team to ensure achievement of revenue goals * Ensure team members are delivering on time and budget on key deliverables * Coach, evaluate and provide feedback to team members for their ongoing success, as well as for the growth of our mission
  • Field Marketing: * Develops and maintains in-depth, up-to-date product knowledge and communicates to a variety of audiences such as the product review board, Business Development team, etc. * Oversee the execution of new product/service launch, specifically through communications planning, Business Development team training, and customer targeting * Develops a robust understanding of the customer unmet needs and sales process. Works closely with Portfolio Management and Business Development to implement winning customer engagement campaigns. * Supports the Business Development team in creating contract negotiations strategies to appropriately protect value for Versiti * Develops and executes a market specific strategy and plans for increasing revenue based on value proposition for market segment to generate demand, create differentiation and drive perceived value. * Plans and executes marketing campaigns to generate new prospects and improve client retention. * Identifies trends and gaps for each distinct service line and develops recommendations to address findings
  • External presence: * Oversees specific marketing functions such as public relations, tradeshows, and advertising venues for each lab service line. * Lead the team to develop effective collateral, specification sheets, literature reviews, training materials and sales support for Business Development staff and support teams. * Owns the strategy and content for online presence including website. Leads team in developing and implementing digital campaigns outlining the value of Versiti products and services. Coaches team on monitoring impact and making enhancements, leading to sustainable sales lead generation process and ultimately revenue generation.
  • Market Intelligence: * Develops primary and secondary market research tools for each distinct service line. * Leads analysis regarding market/competitor trends to provide direction to the development of marketing strategy and positioning of key products and product groups. * Gathers and reports customer intelligence to Business Development team.
  • Budget and Resource Management * Identify and analyze financial needs and develop operational and capital expense budgets that ensure cost-effective operations * Assists Director of Service Line Marketing in the preparation of the budget * Ensure that Versiti resources are used wisely * Process paperwork including purchases orders and invoices in a timely manner.
  • General Duties * Maintains required records, reports and files as pertains to areas of responsibility * Participates in professional activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments in the transfusion medicine field * Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the product/service lines of Versiti * Upholds the customer services standards of Versiti
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in life sciences, marketing, business development and/or engineering required
  • Advanced degree in science or business administration preferred (i.e., MS science, MBA) preferred

Experience

  • 4-6 years relevant experience required
  • 1-3 years people leadership experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and competencies including customer journey mapping, buying process, segmentation and targeting, campaign development and execution, value proposition development and communication channel optimization required
  • Strategic mindset with track record of developing and implementing quarterly and annual plans required
  • Knowledge of industry that includes understanding of core products, services and customer base. required
  • Strong organizational, critical and problem-solving skills required
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills required
  • Proven verbal and written communication and presentation skills including ability to present technical information to customers required
