Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Vice President of Transfusion Medicine Business Development, the Associate Director, Transfusion Medicine Business Development at Versiti plays a crucial role in advancing our life-saving mission. This pivotal position develops and implements comprehensive business development strategies, managing sales operations, and fostering client retention for Versiti's Transfusion Medicine blood and related products and services. The Associate Director demonstrates expertise in business strategy, market analysis, and client engagement to achieve sales and profitability objectives. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying marketplace opportunities, prospecting and engaging new clients, and ensuring the renewal and satisfaction of our existing client base. By driving perceived value and generating demand in the market, the Associate Director develops compelling proposals and manage the contracting process effectively. As a strategic partner, this position collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and activate business development initiatives with Versiti's overall objectives. The Associate Director's vision and business acumen enhance our market presence, ensuring every strategy contributes to our mission of improving patient outcomes through innovative transfusion medicine solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Calls on and sells Transfusion Medicine products and services to prospective and current clients. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of products and services in support of the Transfusion Medicine program(s).
  • Manages the overall Versiti relationship across all business lines within respective territory, including, if appropriate, service recovery.
  • Develops and implements contract renewal strategies for existing Versiti clients. Provides weekly report to cross-functional team on the status of client renewals and new business opportunities.
  • Identifies key client c-level and budget owning stakeholders and develops and maintains collaborative working relationships within respective territory.
  • Partners with Versiti legal counsel to review and gain approval on new and existing client agreements.
  • Leads Business Reviews with accounts in respective territory.
  • Leads launch of new blood product and service offerings with customers within respective territory.
  • Creates and gives presentations and represents Versiti at trade shows, meetings and with relevant professional organizations in order to promote Transfusion Medicine offerings.
  • Identifies and provides feedback to internal team on issues regarding customer needs and requirements, customer concerns and satisfaction, potential expansion opportunities, competitor activities and strategies, etc.
  • Partners with internal service line leaders to shape new strategies and product development in order to meet the needs of Versiti clients.
  • Provides input to the Marketing team for planning; for example, in the development of sales strategies and identification and prioritization of planned sales and retention business.
  • Provides customer feedback to Hospital Services and other relative operational staff.
  • Represents Versiti and its affiliates at designated internal and external meetings and assumes special assignments.
  • Participates in professional activities to keep up to date on relevant developments in the field.
  • Upholds the customer services standards and management philosophy of Versiti.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Master's Degree in marketing or business (MBA) with an emphasis in business or marketing preferred

Experience

  • 5-7 years experience in business development, sales and marketing required
  • 3-5 years experience in healthcare or blood banking marketing preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in healthcare or blood banking leadership role preferred
  • Entrepreneurial experience in developing new business opportunities preferred
  • Proven success in relationship based, consultative selling preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effectively communicates at the C-Level in healthcare organizations, developing enterprise-wide selling strategies. required
  • Strong leadership skills including strategy development, excellent communication skills, problem solving, relationship building, time management, organizational abilities and self-directed for task accomplishment. required
  • Direct experience managing multiple long cycle time selling processes. required
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing as it relates to the field of Transfusion Medicine. preferred
  • Enthusiasm, positive attitude, authenticity and perseverance necessary for success in relationship based, consultative and competitive selling. required
  • Skilled at customer relationship management. required
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to establish credibility and develop professional working relationships at all levels of customer interaction. required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation and negotiation skills. required
