Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Community Outreach and Advocacy, the Associate Partner, Community Outreach is responsible for the facilitation of education and awareness regarding the lifesaving gift of blood donation. As an extension of Versiti within targeted communities, this individual will establish and maintain partnerships with local leaders, organizations, schools, and media to further the mission of blood donation especially in underserved areas. This leader will be responsible for outreach that aligns directly with Versiti's public campaigns and core programs highlighting the need for diverse donors to: • Support sickle cell disease patients and other hematologic disorders • Build trusted relationships to dispel myths that hinder individuals from considering blood donation • Provide clarity to help others make informed decisions about their capacity to be regularly scheduled blood donors

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison with the community and represents Versiti as directed
  • Collaborates on the development and implementation of goals and objectives for community outreach in target markets
  • Prepares marketing, education events, activities, and presentations to targeted audiences, candidates, community partners, and collaborators
  • Conduct compliant outreach/marketing and educational presentations to individuals and targeted partners
  • Execute, plan, and coordinate resources with vendors, sales agents, and facilities to ensure successful event and outreach opportunities
  • Track and measure various events for effectiveness and metrics development
  • Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key community partners
  • Respond to requests for information, provide resource information, and support services to donors, patient collaborators, and their families
  • Work collaboratively with other Versiti departments and staff to manage outreach/marketing resources, speaker events, and other duties as assigned
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with others in challenging and stressful situations
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time while managing attention to detail
  • Maintain high level of communication with Manager and other key staff as directed
  • Flexibility and dedication for handling demanding, irregular work schedule under pressure

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Education, Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Social Work required

Experience

  • 1-3 years Marketing, Communications, Outreach, Social Work or related experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated success in relationship building required
  • Experience in event and/or project management required
  • Time and prioritization management required
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with the public including customer service and presentations required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid State Driver's License upon hire required

Tools and Technology

  • General office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine, scan) required
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
